About
Welcome to Paddington Cafe, a hidden gem located at 134B High St, Belmont VIC 3216, Australia. This charming establishment boasts a warm and inviting atmosphere, making it the perfect spot to unwind with a delightful coffee or a freshly baked pastry.
As I walked into Paddington Cafe, I was immediately enveloped by its cozy ambiance. Long and narrow, the space may seem modest; however, it manages to create an intimate environment ideal for couples or solo diners seeking a quiet retreat. Many patrons appreciate its tranquility, which allows for focused reading or productive work sessions. As Krystyna Palafox noted, it’s a fantastic place to enjoy a peaceful afternoon.
The menu at Paddington Cafe is a beautiful balance of simplicity and variety, featuring options for all dietary preferences, including gluten-free, vegan, and vegetarian dishes. I was particularly impressed by the triple mushroom gnocchi, praised by Hao-Ning Ng, which is undoubtedly a special treat and a standout among the offerings. The coffee here is equally noteworthy; using single-origin Ethiopian beans, it provides a rich and delightful experience that will satisfy even the most discerning coffee connoisseurs.
The service at Paddington Cafe also deserves a mention; staff members are not only friendly and accommodating—empowering guests to feel at home—but they also exhibit an attentive nature. The detail-oriented approach, evident in their thorough cleaning practices for high chairs, reflects a commitment to quality and customer care that enhances the overall dining experience.
For families, Paddington Cafe offers generous portion sizes that keep both kids and adults happily satisfied, as highlighted by Christina, whose family of four enjoyed a lovely meal without feeling overwhelmed by the menu. The takeaway option adds further convenience for those who wish to savor the cafe's delights at home or on the go.
For those looking to soak up the sun while enjoying their meals, the outdoor seating area is a lovely choice, particularly for guests sensitive to noise. Given its narrow layout, some may find the bustling atmosphere more pronounced during busier hours, but the overall vibe remains warm and welcoming.
In conclusion, Paddington Cafe is a treasure trove of flavors, atmosphere, and attentive service waiting to be explored. Whether you’re in the mood for a comforting meal, a perfect cup of coffee, or simply a serene corner to relax, this little café is sure to leave a lasting impression. I look forward to returning and discovering more of what this delightful café has to offer.
“ The breakfast menu is very reasonably priced from $9 - $27 We received table water & ordered, my husband went for Scrambled Eggs on sourdough toast & added house made hash brown & Istra bacon (for a total $25) & I ordered the Smashed Peas & added on some Istra bacon too (for total $27) Food arrived & it looked well presented & portioned. The eggs were folded delicately, softly set & silky with a liberal sprinkle of seasoning including dried herbs. The chunky hash brown was crunchy & full of rustic Snow White potato. The bacon was cooked well. It was delicious & very filling. My Smashed peas were very colourful & piled high on the sourdough with bacon off to the side. Very tasty, peas were warm & of a creamy consistency, well seasoned with dollops of goats cheese & blistered cherry tomato’s. It also had a grind of herbed seasoning & finished off with black & white sesame, toasted & crushed cumin & coriander seeds on a beetroot hummus smear. So tasty & well flavoured I didn’t need to do a thing but enjoy it. Staff are very friendly & on our Saturday morning visit there were plenty (staff). Overall the presentation, size of portion & quality seasoned ingredients & price, makes it worth a visit & we would go back. ”
“ Food was absolutely fantastic! Coffee was wonderful! Ample menu without being overwhelming. Unfortunately we missed out on sitting in the main cafe area, which had a nicer ambience. Cost was approx $100 for a family of 4 including meals and coffees. Will definitely return if/when we return to the area. ”
“ Vibey cafe, friendly attentive staff. Seated straight away and had a coffee within minutes. Quick food service too. Breakfast bagel and coffee. ”
“ Stumbled upon this charming little café while exploring Geelong. The coffee and pastries were decent, place was quiet—perfect if you want to just chill, read, or do some productive work. ”
“ Very friendly and accommodating staff. Food was delicious and generously sized. Service was prompt. The atmosphere was warm and inviting. There are gluten-free, vegan, and vegetarian options available and marked on the menu. It wasn't super busy or loud while I was there, but the café is fairly narrow and noise would bounce during busier hours. There is a nice outdoor sitting area out front which I would recommend taking advantage of, weather allowing, if you are easily overstimulated by noise. Takeaway is available, of course. ”
“ Long narrow place, seating good for two people but groups might be challenging. Menu simple w good homely feel, coffee beautiful and hot chocolate was nice. Nice to drop in for a quick bite. ”
“ Food and coffee 10/10 We ordered different dishes and coffee on two occasions and we were very happy with our orders. Their triple mushroom gnocchi was quite a special treat. Service is great. Saw the staff giving the highchair a good clean before bringing it out, and that showed great attention to details. Sadly that doesn't happen often enough in other places. Their filter coffee using single origin Ethiopian beans was a lovely surprise. Would definitely go back for another visit. ”
